Sermon Reflection Time
(on hiatus during Church construction)

As we hear the Word together, we are called by faith to respond and to proclaim. Here is an opportunity to engage one another and the preacher on his/her sermon topic in the spirit of mutual ministry. Often the time allotted for preaching is brief. This forum allows more in-depth conversation. Come if the spirit moved you and be willing to share your thoughts.

Coffee & Fellowship   Hospitality Tent   Sundays, 10-12:30

Coffee and light (sometimes more) refreshments are available every week. Grab a cup on your way to or from Church or just gather with fellow parishioners for a good time of fellowship together.

Meet the Propers  Parish House Library   Wednesday, 11:00 am

What is a proper? It is the part of a service of Morning Prayer or Eucharist that changes according to date. In the Book of Common Prayer, each proper consists of a Collect (prayer), an Old Testament reading, a Psalm, an Epistle and Gospel reading. Each service of worship in our tradition is shaped by the day’s propers—they influence preaching themes, choice of music and provide the setting for our celebration of the Eucharist.
Why “Meet the Propers?” Scripture is very important to Anglican life and worship. Major portions of scripture are read each year, culminating in a three-year cycle, then we begin again. Bible study of the week’s propers, thereby, assures a generous serving of scripture read according to the calendar setting - Advent, Epiphany, Lent, etc. as well as Feast Days.
Reading the propers in a small group setting is very engaging. Every week, there is some new learning, some storytelling, cultural and historical background, and a wide range of spiritual (and spirited!) response.
Join us Wednesdays, 11:00 am  in the Library for “Meet the Propers.”

Education For Ministry

Education For Ministry (EFM) is a program offered by the School of Theology of the University of the South in various parishes and denominations across the country and around the world. The program, which lasts for four academic years, is offered in a small group setting with trained mentors. There is a modest tuition charge, some of which is underwritten by the Diocese; EFM meetings are scheduled on a weeknight evening, each lasts 2 - 2 1/2 hrs. and include times for fellowship, worship, discussion of assigned readings and theological reflection. The academic portion of the program is broken up by year. Year I covers the Hebrew Scriptures, the New Testament in Year II, Church History in Year III and the Modern Church and Theological Issues in Year IV.
Lay leader Howard Baker leads a group at the Redeemer which will begin Year II in October. If you have taken Year I and would like to continue, please contact him at bakerfam@aol.com.

Exploring Together

Explore theology, ethics, church history, critical biblical interpretation, ascetical theology, and a host of other challenging topics in a community of fellow learners and seekers. Each book will be discussed at two consecutive meetings of the group, but depending upon your schedule and interests, it is possible to join the group at any time.

Every other Tuesday, beginning September 8
